- Make one yourself. I did for about $50 US. By a new or used PC power supply.
- Mine was a 250 watt one for a mini-tower and do the following:

- PROCEDURE
-
-
- 1. Remove the Amiga power cable from the original power supply by
- desoldering the leads. With a volt/ohm meter, verify the pin/wire color
- combinations. Tape off the yellow wire with eletrical tape, so that it
- will not short. It will not be needed. Strip about a 1/2 inch of
- insulation off the remaining wires in preparation to attach to the power
- supply leads.
-
- 2. On the PC supply locate the P8 plug. It has P8 stamped on it and six
- leads: black (2), blue, yellow, red, & orange. Cut the plug off.
- Since only the black, blue, yellow & red leads will be needed, tape off
- the other two leads (black & orange) to prevent shorting. Strip the
- remaining wires as above.
-
- 3. Turn the power supply ON and using a volt/ohm meter, verify the voltages
- on the wires, using the black wire as common ground.
-
- 4. Turn the PC supply OFF! Connect the corresponding wires based on their
- voltages between the PC supply and the wires on the Amiga plug. These
- should be:
-
- PC SUPPLY AMIGA PLUG
-
- Black White
- Red Brown
- Yellow Red
- Blue Black
-
-
- Tape the spliced leads with electrical tape or use wire nuts. There
- should now be just the Green wire on the Amiga plug left. This is the
- shield ground for the computer's radio frequency shield. Connect it
- directly to the power supply box with a screw to obtain a good "earth"
- ground.
-
- 5. Verify the voltages on the pins of the Amiga plug using pin 4 (signal
- ground) as your ground. Recheck all your work: connections and
- voltages.
-
-
-
- That should do it. MORE POWER!!
